Getting There

• Bicycle

  If you’re starting from downtown Cozumel, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head south on Avenida 5 until you reach Avenida 10, then turn left. Continue until you reach the waterfront, then follow the coastal road. This route will take you along the beach, and you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful views. Keep riding until you reach the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen, where you can take a ferry to Puerto Morelos. Once you arrive in Puerto Morelos, you can walk to Playa Publica, which is about a 10-minute stroll from the ferry terminal.

• Public Bus

  From Cozumel, walk to the main bus station located near the central plaza. Purchase a ticket for a bus to Puerto Morelos. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Puerto Morelos, exit the bus and walk straight towards the beach. Playa Publica is located a short distance from the bus drop-off point, approximately 5-10 minutes on foot.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  You can easily find a taxi in Cozumel by heading to the main square or your hotel lobby. Ask the driver to take you to the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen. Once at the ferry terminal, purchase a ferry ticket to Puerto Morelos. After arriving in Puerto Morelos, you can either walk or hop into another taxi to reach Playa Publica, which is just a short drive away.

• Walking

  If you’re staying near the waterfront in Cozumel, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the ferry terminal. Walk along the waterfront promenade (Paseo del Malecón) until you reach the terminal. Once you take the ferry to Puerto Morelos, you can walk to Playa Publica. From the ferry terminal in Puerto Morelos, just head straight towards the beach and follow the signs for a relaxing day at the beach.
