Getting There

  If you're driving from the Gulf Coast region, head towards La Paz. From La Paz, take Highway 1 northbound towards Ciudad Constitución. After about 195 kilometers, you'll reach the town of Ciudad Constitución. From there, take the Highway 1D towards San Ignacio. Continue for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the town of San Ignacio. Once in San Ignacio, follow the signs for San Ignacio Lagoon, which is about 50 kilometers from the town center. The road to the lagoon may be unpaved, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Expect to pay for gas along the way, and possibly a small toll fee on Highway 1D.

  To reach San Ignacio Lagoon via public transportation, start by taking a bus from La Paz to Ciudad Constitución. Several bus companies operate this route, and the trip takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. Once you arrive in Ciudad Constitución, transfer to a bus heading to San Ignacio. The journey should take about 1.5 hours. Once in San Ignacio, you can either take a taxi or a local shuttle to the lagoon, which is about 50 kilometers away. Make sure to confirm the schedule of the return buses, as they may vary.

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi or shuttle service from San Ignacio to the lagoon.
