Car
If you're traveling by car from Ciudad Valles, take the Highway 85 towards San Luis Potosí. Continue on this highway for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the exit for the San Luis Potosí - Matehuala highway (Route 57). Merge onto Route 57 and continue for about 40 kilometers. Take the exit towards the town of Aquismón, which is well-signposted. Once in Aquismón, follow the local signs to Cueva del Agua, which is approximately 15 kilometers from the town center. There may be a small parking fee at the entrance of the cave area.
Public Transportation
From Ciudad Valles, you can catch a bus to Aquismón at the main bus terminal. The buses run frequently and the fare is typically around 50 pesos. Upon arrival in Aquismón, you will need to take a local taxi or a colectivo (shared van) to reach Cueva del Agua, which is about 15 kilometers away. The taxi fare should be approximately 200 pesos. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your ride.
