Car
If you're driving from Ciudad Valles, head northeast on Avenida Pedro Antonio de los Santos towards Carretera a San Luis Potosí/México 70D. Continue on this road for approximately 25 km until you see signs for Tamuín. Take the exit towards Tamuín and continue straight until you reach the Zona Arqueológica de Tamtoc, which is located on the outskirts of Tamuín. There is parking available on-site. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee of around 40 MXN per person.
Public Transportation
To reach Tamtoc via public transportation, take a bus from the Ciudad Valles bus terminal to Tamuín. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Tamuín, you can either take a taxi or a local colectivo (shared taxi) to the archaeological site, which is about 5 km away. The cost for the colectivo is approximately 10 MXN per person. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return trips to Ciudad Valles.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Ciudad Valles to the Zona Arqueológica de Tamtoc. The fare typically ranges from 300 to 500 MXN, depending on negotiation and time of day.
