Getting There

• Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

  From any central point in Zihuatanejo, head to the main road (Avenida Cuauhtémoc). Look for a colectivo taxi, which is a shared taxi that operates on set routes. They are usually white with a colored stripe. You can catch one at the designated colectivo stops or wave one down. Tell the driver you're going to Ixtapa Zihua beach. The fare is approximately 30-50 pesos per person. The colectivo will drop you off close to the beach.

• Public Bus

  Locate the nearest bus stop on Avenida Cuauhtémoc and wait for a bus heading towards Ixtapa. The buses are typically marked with a destination sign in the front window. The fare is around 10-15 pesos. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach Ixtapa, get off at the stop nearest to the beach area. From there, it's a short walk to Ixtapa Zihua beach.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle. There are several rental shops in Zihuatanejo. The cost is usually around 100-150 pesos for a few hours. Head towards the coastline, following the bike paths that lead to Ixtapa Zihua beach. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and you'll enjoy scenic views along the way.

• Walking

  For those who are up for a walk, you can reach Ixtapa Zihua beach on foot. From Zihuatanejo's town center, head towards Playa La Ropa and follow the coastline to Ixtapa. The walk is about 5 kilometers and will take roughly 1 hour. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the path can be sunny and hot.
