Collectivo
From the center of Playa del Carmen, head to the main avenue, Avenida 5 Norte. Look for the collectivo vans which are shared taxis that travel along the highway towards Puerto Morelos and beyond. You can catch a collectivo at the corner of Calle 1 Norte and Avenida 5 Norte. Tell the driver you want to go to Maroma Beach (Cancun - Chetumal Km 55). The ride should take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the collectivo will drop you off at the main entrance.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi. You can find taxis at various locations around Playa del Carmen, including the bus station or on Avenida 5. Simply tell the driver 'Maroma Beach' or provide the address: Cancun - Chetumal Km 55. The taxi ride will take around 20-30 minutes, and the fare should be negotiated beforehand or confirmed with the driver.
Walking and Biking
For the adventurous, you can bike or walk towards Maroma Beach. Start from the main pedestrian area of Playa del Carmen, head east towards the beach, and follow the coastline north. Look for bike rental shops in the area, and rent a bike for a scenic ride along the beach road. This journey might take longer, around 1-1.5 hours, but you'll enjoy the beautiful views along the coastline. Keep an eye out for signs leading toward Cancun as Maroma Beach is situated along that route.
