Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the famous Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue), head east until you reach the end of the avenue at the beach. Continue walking to the right (south) along the sandy path until you reach the Public Beach area. This area is marked by umbrellas and beach clubs, but you can walk to the public sections without any fees. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea!

  • Collectivo

    If you are near the ADO bus terminal, take a collectivo (shared van) heading towards Puerto Aventuras. You can catch this collectivo just outside the terminal. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to the beach (look for signs that say 'Playa'). Once you get off, walk towards the beach, which is only a short walk away to the east.

  • Taxi

    You can easily find a taxi anywhere in Playa del Carmen. Just tell the driver you want to go to Public Beach (Playa Publica). Taxis are common and relatively inexpensive in this area. The driver will drop you off at the entrance to the beach, from where you can simply walk down to the sand.
