Getting there

Walking

Start from the famous Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue), which is the main pedestrian street in Playa del Carmen. Head south along 5th Avenue until you reach Calle 12. Turn right onto Calle 12 and continue walking until you reach Avenida 10. Turn left on Avenida 10 and walk towards the beach. Continue walking until you reach the entrance to Playacar, which is well-marked. Once you enter Playacar, follow the path that leads to Playa del Car, which is located near the beach area.

Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

Find a colectivo stop, which are common throughout Playa del Carmen. Look for the colectivos that are heading to Playacar. The fare is usually around 20-30 pesos. Once you get on, you will share the ride with other passengers. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to Playacar. From there, it’s a short walk to Playa del Car.

Bicycle Rental

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops along Quinta Avenida. After renting, head south on 5th Avenue until you reach Calle 12, then turn right. Continue until you reach Avenida 10 and turn left. Follow Avenida 10 towards the beach and enter Playacar. You can park your bike at designated bike racks near Playa del Car.

Public Bus

Take a public bus from central Playa del Carmen that travels to Playacar. Buses can be caught along Avenida 30. Ensure you tell the driver your destination so they can drop you off at the closest stop to Playacar. After exiting, follow the signs to the beach area where Playa del Car is situated.
