If you're starting from the San Ysidro border crossing, take the Blue Line trolley towards UC San Diego. Ride until you reach the 'Little Italy' station. From there, exit the trolley and head north on India Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Ash Street, then turn left. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the 'Balboa Park' area. The Japanese Friendship Garden and Museum is located at 2215 Pan American E Rd.

From the San Ysidro border, board the MTS Bus Route 905 towards Downtown San Diego. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the '6th Ave & Broadway' stop. From there, walk east on Broadway until you reach 4th Ave, then turn left. Continue walking until you reach 'Balboa Park'. The Japanese Friendship Garden and Museum is located at 2215 Pan American E Rd within the park.
