Start your journey at the Petoskey Waterfront on Lake Michigan. From there, head northeast on Lake St. Continue until you reach the intersection with Ione St. Turn left onto Ione St and walk straight for about 0.5 miles. The Bear River Valley Recreation Area will be on your right at 302 Ione St.

Begin at the Petoskey Bike Path located near the waterfront. Follow the bike path heading towards the north until you reach the intersection with Ione St. Turn left onto Ione St and continue to bike for approximately 0.5 miles. The Bear River Valley Recreation Area will be on your right at 302 Ione St.

Check the local bus schedule at the Petoskey Transit Center. If there is a route that goes towards Ione St, board that bus. Disembark at the closest stop to 302 Ione St. From there, walk south on Ione St for a short distance until you reach the Bear River Valley Recreation Area.
