Getting There

Car
From any location within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, head to M-28, the main highway that runs through the area. If you are near Munising, take H-58 east until you reach the junction with M-123. Turn right onto M-123 and continue until you reach the parking area for the Au Sable Light Station. The parking area is located off of M-123, approximately 15 miles south of M-28. Note that there is a fee for parking in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which is $15 per vehicle for a weekly pass.

Once you have parked at the designated parking area, you will need to hike approximately 1.5 miles along the Au Sable Lighthouse Trail to reach the light station. The trail begins at the parking lot and is well-marked. It is a relatively easy hike, suitable for most visitors. Be sure to bring water and wear appropriate hiking shoes.

Currently, there are no direct public transportation options to Au Sable Light Station. However, visitors can use local shuttle services or taxi services from nearby towns like Munising to reach the parking area at M-123.
