If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Head east on H-58 (Pictured Rocks Scenic Drive) until you reach Munising. From Munising, take M-28 east. After approximately 20 miles, turn left onto M-77 South. Continue on M-77 for about 30 miles until you reach Thompson. Palms Book State Park will be on your right. Look for the park entrance which is well-marked. Note that there may be a small entrance fee to the park.

The closest bus service is provided by Indian Trails, which operates routes through the Upper Peninsula.
