Car
If you are traveling by car, begin your journey in the Upper Peninsula by navigating to US-2. From there, take M-77 North towards Seney. Continue on M-77 for approximately 20 miles until you reach the intersection with M-28. Turn left onto M-28 West and drive for about 10 miles. Look for the signs for the Seney National Wildlife Refuge and Sable Falls. Turn right onto Sable Falls Trail. The parking area will be on your left. Parking is free.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in rural areas of the Upper Peninsula. If you are near a city like Escanaba or Marquette, check with local transit services for bus routes heading towards Seney. Once you reach Seney, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Sable Falls since public transit may not drop you directly at the falls. It's advisable to call ahead for transportation options or check local ride services. Be prepared for potential costs associated with taxi or ride-sharing services.
Walking
Once you arrive at the Sable Falls parking area, you will need to walk approximately 500 feet to the falls. The path will lead you along a well-marked trail, which includes a series of 164 steps leading down to the viewing area of the falls. Prepare for the return walk, as you'll need to climb the same number of steps back up.
