Public Transit
From downtown Duluth, head to the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus stop. You can take Bus 11 (the 'East Duluth' route) from the stop at Superior Street and 1st Avenue East. Remain on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve.' This stop is located right near the entrance to the reserve. After getting off, walk a short distance towards the entrance to enjoy the beautiful views and nature trails.
Biking
If you're comfortable biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Duluth. Start your journey from the downtown area, heading east on Superior Street until you reach the intersection with 4th Avenue East. Turn left onto 4th Avenue East and continue until you reach E Skyline Parkway. Follow E Skyline Parkway northeast for about 2.5 miles. The entrance to Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve will be on your right. There are bike racks available near the entrance.
Walking
For those looking to walk, you can start at the Lakewalk along the shore of Lake Superior. Walk northeast along the Lakewalk until you reach the intersection with E Skyline Parkway. From there, head up the hill on E Skyline Parkway for approximately 1.5 miles. Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve will be on your left side. Note that this route involves some uphill walking, so be prepared for a little exercise before you reach the beautiful views at the reserve.
