From the St. Charles Historic District, head east on Main Street until you reach North Second Street. Turn left onto North Second Street and walk north until you reach Clark Street. Old City Hall will be on your right at 200 N Second St.
Public Transport
If you are near the St. Charles County Transit stop, take the 5 or 6 bus route towards the downtown area. Get off at the Main Street and North Second Street stop. From there, walk north on North Second Street, and you will find Old City Hall at 200 N Second St. A single trip on The Charley is $0.50.

The Old City Hall, located at 200 N Second St, St Charles, MO 63301, stands as a testament to St. Charles' rich heritage and architectural beauty. Constructed in 1832 as the Market House, the building underwent alterations in 1886, which included a new primary facade, roof, and interior modifications. The Old City Hall is a two-story, vernacular brick building with a rockfaced ashlar foundation. It features segmental arched openings, pilasters, and a mansard roof.In March 1849, St. Charles was incorporated as a city, and the Market House served as the city's offices. Towards the end of the century, the townspeople wanted a new building to reflect the city's increasing size and importance. Rather than demolishing the Market House, additions were built to the front and rear, maintaining the building's original architectural forms while providing a more fashionable look.The Old City Hall is currently leased by the St. Charles County Historical Society, housing their archives and library on the second floor. The Historical Society plans to restore the structure to its 1886 appearance and utilize the first floor for offices and a county museum.
