Evening Star Campground: Your Gateway to Nature at Stockton Lake

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Stockton Lake, head southwest on State Highway 83. Continue for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with State Highway 32. Turn left onto State Highway 32 and follow it for approximately 3 miles. You will then see signs for Evening Star Campground. Turn right onto Evening Star Loop and continue for about 0.5 miles. The campground entrance will be on your left at 38 Evening Star Lp, Dadeville, MO 65635.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in the Stockton Lake area. However, you can take a Greyhound or local bus service to Dadeville, MO. Once you arrive at the Dadeville bus station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (such as Uber) to Evening Star Campground, located at 38 Evening Star Lp, Dadeville, MO 65635. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for service times, and expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare fare, which may vary depending on distance and time.

• Biking

  If you enjoy biking, you can rent a bike in Stockton Lake and take the scenic route to Evening Star Campground. Start by heading southwest on State Highway 83. After about 5 miles, turn left onto State Highway 32. Continue for another 3 miles, then turn right onto Evening Star Loop. The campground entrance will be about 0.5 miles down Evening Star Loop on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and carry water, especially during warmer months.

• Walking

  Walking to Evening Star Campground from any nearby locations is not recommended due to the distance and lack of pedestrian pathways. However, if you are staying nearby, you can walk along the sides of State Highway 83 and State Highway 32. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have proper walking gear. The campground is approximately 8 miles from the nearest urban area, so this option is only advisable if you are well-prepared.
