Follow MO-14 W into Ozark, then turn left onto N 3rd St. The Historic Weaver House will be on your right. Street parking is available nearby. The Historic Weaver House, located at 602 N 3rd St in Ozark, Missouri, offers a glimpse into the area's rich history. Built circa 1855 by John Weaver, an Ozark pioneer, it is the oldest standing structure in the city. The house played a significant role during the Civil War, serving as a temporary hospital for both Confederate and Union soldiers after a battle near Camp Brown (now Finley River Park) on August 1, 1862. Blood stains are reportedly still visible on the floor of an upstairs bedroom. The house was also said to have been struck by gunfire, and a cannonball found inside is now at the Christian County Museum. Following the Civil War, the Weaver House became associated with the Christian County Bald Knobbers, a vigilante group. According to local legend, the house served as a hideout for some members before they were publicly hanged. Today, the Historic Weaver House offers visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the past. Though it once housed the Ozark Parks Department , it now operates as a rental cottage. The house is located across from Finley Farms, The Ozark Mill, and Finley River Park.
