This impressive monument pays tribute to Alexander Suvorov, a revered Russian generalissimo and the founder of Tiraspol. Erected in 1979, the monument is situated on Suvorov Square, the city's main square, and is considered one of the finest artistic representations of Suvorov in the former USSR.The monument was created by sculptors Vladimir and Valentin Artamonov, with architectural design by Y. Druzhinin and Y. Chistyakov. The bronze statue depicts Suvorov on horseback and is positioned on a small hill within the square.
