Țaul Park, located approximately 200 km north of Chișinău, is the largest park in Moldova, sprawling across 64 hectares. Established in the early 20th century around the Pommer family mansion, the park is divided into two distinct sections. The upper part features the rustic residence of Boyar Pommer, surrounded by avenues and flower beds. The lower part resembles a forest, showcasing diverse tree groups from various geographical areas. The park's arboretum boasts around 150 species of trees, shrubs, and vines, with over a hundred being exotic. Some species, like the Douglas fir from Canada and Japanese cherry, are unique to this area in Moldova. Visitors can explore the park's extensive network of alleys, paths, and trails, stretching over 12.5 km. The landscape architect I. Vladislav-Padalco designed the park, and it is considered one of his most successful creations. Originally founded in 1901 by the financier Ivan Petersburg Pommer, the park also features a complex of historic buildings, including the Pommer family palace. During the Soviet era, the complex functioned as a sanatorium. Although some areas need restoration, the park's picturesque valleys and peaceful pathways offer tranquility and a connection to the area's heritage. Today, Țaul Park is a favorite spot for picnics and leisurely strolls, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in nature.
