Founded in 1973 on the site of the former Botanical Garden of the Academy of Sciences, the park has expanded to almost 78 hectares. It serves as an essential oxygen source and air filter for the city.The park is home to over a thousand species of woody plants, showcasing Moldova's rich flora. Among the botanical treasures are rare species, including nine of the thirteen woody plants listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova. Visitors can admire rare endemic relicts like the Ginkgo biloba, a living fossil from the Triassic period.The park's design harmoniously blends natural elements within an urban setting. Visitors can explore diverse tree and shrub collections and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere away from the city's noise. The park provides various activities, from leisurely strolls along winding paths to picnics in vast green spaces. Keep in mind that dogs and bicycles are not allowed.
