Cathedral Park, also known as Parcul Catedralei, has been a central feature of Chișinău since its establishment between 1830 and 1840. Coinciding with the construction of the Nativity Cathedral, the park has served as a gathering place and a green oasis in the city. The park's history is intertwined with Moldova's, having undergone restoration after significant damage during World War II. For a time, it was even named Victory Park.The park spans 9 hectares and features tree-lined paths, vibrant flowerbeds, and open spaces for relaxation. The centerpiece is the Nativity of Christ Metropolitan Cathedral, accompanied by its iconic bell tower and the Triumphal Arch. The bell tower, destroyed in 1962 during the Soviet era, was rebuilt in 1998, restoring the architectural ensemble.Today, Cathedral Park is a hub of activity, hosting cultural events, festivals, and everyday gatherings.
