Established in 1950 at the initiative of Leonid Brezhnev, it was initially named "The Central Park of Culture and Rest of the Leninist Komsomol". Designed by architect Robert Kurz, the park spans 114 hectares, featuring a 34-hectare lake at its center.The park offers a variety of attractions and activities. Visitors can stroll along the 2.5-kilometer path encircling the lake, rent boats, or enjoy fishing. The iconic Summer Theater, also known as the Green Theater, is the largest open-air theater in Europe, hosting various cultural events. The park also includes a daytime cinema, a children's town called "Andrieș", and a beach.Valea Morilor Park is home to diverse flora, including Canadian poplar, wild chestnut, and maple trees. The lake is populated with carp, crucian carp, and ducks.
