Car
From Buir Lake, head southwest on the main road towards the town of Jargalant. Follow the road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction near Jargalant. Turn left at the junction and continue on the road for approximately 30 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Lake Khar, and follow the dirt road for another 10 kilometers directly to the lake's edge. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as parts of the road may be unpaved.
Public Transportation
First, take a bus or shared minivan from Buir Lake to Jargalant. These typically leave in the morning and may cost around 5,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). Upon arrival in Jargalant, you can hire a local taxi or arrange for a ride to Lake Khar. The taxi ride will cost approximately 20,000 MNT to 30,000 MNT depending on negotiation. Expect the taxi ride to take about 30-40 minutes.
Walking (if necessary)
If you find yourself in Jargalant and unable to find a taxi, you can walk towards Lake Khar. From the center of Jargalant, head southwest, following the dirt road. It is about 10 kilometers to the lake, and it may take around 2-3 hours on foot. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
