If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Darhan. Drive along the A-1 highway towards the Selenge region. Continue on the A-1 for about 30 kilometers until you reach a sign for Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Turn onto the dirt road leading to the monastery, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the highway. The road can be rough, so drive carefully. Once you arrive, there is parking available near the monastery.
Public Transportation
To reach Amarbayasgalant Monastery using public transportation, first, take a bus or minivan from Darhan to the town of Zuunbayan. Buses leave regularly from the central bus station in Darhan. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 1,000 MNT. Upon reaching Zuunbayan, you’ll need to hire a taxi for the remaining 10 kilometers to the monastery. Taxis are available at the bus stop and should cost about 5,000 MNT. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
