Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Yakeshi, which is the nearest urban area to Daguangdingzi Shan. Drive north on the G301 road for approximately 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local signage directing you towards Daguangdingzi Shan as you approach the mountain area. Be prepared for unpaved roads closer to the mountain; a 4WD vehicle is recommended. Once you reach the base of Daguangdingzi Shan, there will be designated parking areas.
Public Transportation
To reach Daguangdingzi Shan using public transportation, take a bus from Yakeshi to the nearest bus stop that services the Daguangdingzi area. Buses are available at the main bus station in Yakeshi. The journey may take around 1 hour, and you should confirm the current schedule with the bus station as it may vary. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a shuttle to take you the remaining distance to the mountain, which is approximately 10 kilometers away. Expect to pay around 20-50 RMB for the taxi ride.
Hiking
For those adventurous enough to hike, you can start your trek from the nearest accessible point after getting off the bus or taxi. Ensure you have a reliable map or GPS, as trails may not be well marked. The hike to the summit of Daguangdingzi Shan can take around 2-4 hours depending on your fitness level. Carry sufficient water, snacks, and gear appropriate for changing weather conditions.
