If you are closer to the central areas like Miles City, you can also take Highway 12 west until you reach I-90. Continue on I-90 for approximately 150 miles until you reach the exit for Whitehall (Exit 274). After exiting, turn left onto MT-2 and follow it for about 3 miles. Then, turn right onto Lewis & Clark Caverns Road, which will take you directly to the park entrance.

    While public transportation options are limited in Eastern Montana, you can take a Greyhound bus to the nearest city, which is Butte, MT.
