Car
From any location in Eastern Montana, head towards Interstate 90 (I-90). If you are near Billings, take I-90 westbound. If you are closer to the central areas like Miles City, you can also take Highway 12 west until you reach I-90. Continue on I-90 for approximately 150 miles until you reach the exit for Whitehall (Exit 274). After exiting, turn left onto MT-2 and follow it for about 3 miles. Then, turn right onto Lewis & Clark Caverns Road, which will take you directly to the park entrance.

While public transportation options are limited in Eastern Montana, you can take a Greyhound bus to the nearest city, which is Butte, MT. From Butte, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get you to Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. This drive is approximately 40 miles and will take about 45 minutes. Be sure to check the Greyhound schedule in advance for availability and booking. Note that taxi fares may vary, so prepare for an external cost.
