If you are starting from Troy, MT, head west on US-2 W for approximately 13 miles. Look for signs indicating the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness area as you approach. Turn right onto Forest Road 229, which is also known as the 'Cabinet Mountain Road.' Follow this road for about 4 miles until you reach the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness trailhead. There are no fees for parking at the trailhead.
