Getting There

Car

If you are traveling by car, you can reach Glacier National Park from Kalispell, which is a central point in The Flathead. Start by heading east on US-2 E. Continue for about 30 miles until you reach the junction with MT-40. Take the exit for MT-40 N and follow it for approximately 15 miles. This will take you directly into the park entrance. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the Visitor Center, which is a great first stop for maps and information.
Car

From Whitefish, head south on US-93 S. After around 6 miles, turn left onto MT-40 E. Follow MT-40 for about 20 miles until you reach the entrance of Glacier National Park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs to the Apgar Visitor Center for information and maps.
Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, start by taking the Flathead County Public Transit bus from Kalispell to West Glacier. The bus departs from the Flathead County Transit Center. You will need to check the current schedule for departure times. The bus ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive at West Glacier, you will be just outside the park entrance. From there, walk to the entrance and proceed to the Visitor Center for further guidance on exploring the park.
