Getting There

Walking

From the center of Tivat, start at the main square, Trg Magnolija. Head east on Njegoševa Street towards the waterfront. Continue walking along the waterfront promenade until you reach the marina. Once you reach the marina, follow the signs to Porto Montenegro. Keep walking along the coast until you reach the main road, Jadranska Magistrala (E65). Cross the road and continue following the signs toward the village of Špiljari. As you approach Špiljari, you will see signs directing you to St. John Fortress (San Giovanni). The walk takes approximately 45 minutes.
Public Transport

From Tivat, head to the nearest bus stop located near the main square, Trg Magnolija. Take a local bus heading to Kotor or Herceg Novi. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Špiljari. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Špiljari, follow the signs to St. John Fortress. It’s about a 20-minute walk uphill from the bus stop to the fortress entrance.
