After parking, follow the path leading to the fortress entrance, which is well-marked.

If using public transportation, take a local bus that operates from various towns around the Bay of Kotor, such as Tivat or Perast, to Kotor. The main bus station is located about 15 minutes from the Old Town. From the bus station, walk towards the Old Town and enter through one of the city gates. Once in the Old Town, follow the signs to 'Kotor Fortress'. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Ensure you check bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.

If you're already in Kotor, walking to Kotor Fortress is a great option. Start from the Old Town and make your way up to the fortress. Look for the stairs leading up to the fortress, which can be found near the northern side of the Old Town. The hike consists of around 1,350 steps and takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during the warmer months. There is no entry fee to access the fortress, but donations are appreciated.
