Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, which is Errachidia. Take the N13 highway south towards Merzouga. The drive is approximately 130 kilometers and takes about 2 hours. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the Atlas Mountains. As you get closer to Merzouga, look for signs indicating the turnoff to the desert area. Make sure to have enough fuel, as there are limited stations in the vicinity.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Errachidia to Merzouga. The bus station in Errachidia is located centrally, and buses run several times a day. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Be sure to check the schedule in advance, as timings can vary. The fare typically ranges from 50 to 80 Moroccan Dirhams. Once you arrive in Merzouga, you can take a local taxi to your accommodation or to the entrance of the desert.

• Taxi

  If you prefer to hire a taxi, you can find taxis at major towns like Errachidia or Rissani. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey to Merzouga, which should cost around 600 to 800 Moroccan Dirhams for the trip. The taxi will take you directly to your desired location in Merzouga, and you can arrange for a return trip if needed.

• ATV Rental

  Once you reach Merzouga, consider renting an ATV for an adventurous exploration of the desert. Local rental services offer various packages, starting from around 300 Moroccan Dirhams for a couple of hours. Ensure you have proper identification and cash for the rental process.
