Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, the most common route to reach the Sahara Desert tour in Merzouga is from the city of Errachidia. Start by taking the N13 road southwards. Continue on this road until you reach the town of Merzouga. Once in Merzouga, look for signs directing you to Ksar Merzouga, where the tour agency is located. Note that parking may be available nearby, but check with the tour agency for specific parking arrangements. Fuel costs should be considered, as well as potential tolls along the way.

• Bus

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from major cities such as Marrakech or Fes to Merzouga. Buses such as Supratours operate daily routes. Once you arrive at the Merzouga bus station, you can either walk to Ksar Merzouga (approximately 2 km) or arrange for a taxi. The taxi fare should be around 20-30 MAD. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may change seasonally.

• Taxi

  If you are already in a nearby town or city, you can hire a taxi to take you directly to Ksar Merzouga. Ensure you negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Expect to pay around 200-300 MAD depending on the distance. Taxis are a convenient option, especially if you are traveling with luggage.

• Shared Taxi

  Shared taxis (also known as 'grand taxis') are a popular means of transportation in Morocco. From towns like Rissani or Erfoud, you can catch a shared taxi heading towards Merzouga. These taxis leave once they are full, so be ready for a wait. The fare is approximately 50-70 MAD per person. Once you arrive in Merzouga, you can walk or take a local taxi to Ksar Merzouga.

• Local Transport

  Within Merzouga, if you're staying at a local accommodation, many hotels offer shuttle services to Ksar Merzouga. Check with your hotel for availability and any associated costs. This can be a convenient way to reach the tour agency without navigating local transport options.
