Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From Nyaung-U, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head south on the main road towards Bagan Archaeological Zone. Continue biking for about 5 km until you reach the junction near the ancient city wall. Turn right at the junction and follow the road for another 2 km. You will see the Thambula Temple on your left, identifiable by its unique architectural style.

    If you are near the Nyaung-U Market, start walking towards the main road known as Bagan-Nyaung-U Road. Head south for about 1.5 km, then turn left onto the road leading to the Bagan Archaeological Zone. Continue straight for about 3.5 km until you see Thambula Temple on your right side. The temple is slightly set back from the main road, so look for signage.
