From the center of New Bagan, head south on the main road towards Old Bagan. Walk approximately 1.5 kilometers, which should take around 20-25 minutes. You will pass several local shops and eateries along the way, allowing you to enjoy the local atmosphere. Continue straight until you reach the junction where the road intersects with the Old Bagan area. Turn left at the junction.

After turning left, proceed along the road for about 500 meters. You will see the ancient temple structures on your right. Keep walking straight and look for signs pointing towards Tharabar Gate (သရပါတံခါး). This gate is located near the city wall and is easily recognizable. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the junction.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a quicker option, consider renting a bicycle. Many shops in New Bagan offer bicycle rentals for around 1,000 to 2,000 MMK per day. Once you have your bicycle, head south on the main road towards Old Bagan. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Once you reach the junction, turn left and continue until you see Tharabar Gate on your right.

For a unique experience, hire a horse cart (also known as a pony cart) from various spots in New Bagan. The cost for a short ride to Tharabar Gate is typically around 5,000 to 10,000 MMK, depending on your bargaining skills and the distance.
