If you are starting from the Mayangone area, head towards the main road, Pyay Road (also known as the Yangon-Mandalay Road). Walk south for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. At the intersection, turn left onto Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. Continue walking for another 1.5 kilometers. You will see the towering golden stupa of Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance. Follow the signs leading to the entrance, which will be on your right.

From Mayangone, locate the nearest bus stop on Pyay Road. Take bus number 36 or 53, which travels towards the city center. The fare is around 200-300 kyats.
