Getting there

Car

From Windhoek, drive southwest on the B1 highway towards Rehoboth. Continue on the B1 until you reach Mariental, then take the C24 road towards Maltahohe. From Maltahohe, take the C19 road towards Sesriem. Once in Sesriem, continue on the D845 road until you reach the entrance gate of Sossusvlei. From there, Deadvlei is a short drive away within the Namib-Naukluft National Park.

Public Transportation

From Windhoek, take a bus or minibus taxi to Rehoboth. From Rehoboth, you can catch a bus to Mariental. In Mariental, transfer to a bus heading to Maltahohe. Once in Maltahohe, look for transportation to Sesriem. Upon reaching Sesriem, you may need to hire a local guide or arrange for a shuttle service to take you to the entrance gate of Sossusvlei. From there, Deadvlei is a short distance away within the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
