If you are traveling by car, you can rent a vehicle in nearby towns like Sesriem or Windhoek. From Sesriem, take the C19 road towards Sossusvlei. After approximately 60 kilometers, you will reach the entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Be aware that there is an entrance fee of around N$ 80 per person. Continue on the gravel road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the Dune 45 parking area. From there, it’s a short walk to the base of Dune 45.

Once in Sesriem, you can arrange for a local taxi or shuttle to take you to Dune 45, which is about 40 kilometers away.
