Getting There

Car Rental
If you are starting from Windhoek, rent a 4x4 vehicle, as the roads to Kwessi Dunes can be rugged. Drive south on the B1 highway towards Sesriem. After approximately 300 km, turn onto the C27 road towards Sesriem. Continue on this road for about 60 km until you reach the Sesriem entrance to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. From Sesriem, follow the signs towards NamibRand Nature Reserve. Keep an eye out for the 'Kwessi Dunes' signs. The final stretch to the camp is a well-marked dirt road. Ensure you have enough fuel, as there are limited fuel stations.

From Windhoek, take a shuttle service or bus to Sesriem. Companies like Intercape and others operate regular services. The journey takes about 6-8 hours. Upon arriving in Sesriem, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange a shuttle to Kwessi Dunes, which is roughly 30 km away. It's advisable to pre-arrange this transport, as public taxis may not frequently run to the lodge. Expect to pay around NAD 300-400 for the taxi ride.
