Walking
To reach Changu Narayan Temple from Bhaktapur Durbar Square, start at the main entrance of the square and head east towards the main road (Bhaktapur - Changunarayan Road). Continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers (about 20-25 minutes on foot) until you reach the sign for Changu Narayan. Follow the sign and take the left path which leads you uphill towards the temple. The path will be surrounded by fields and small local houses. After a short uphill trek, you will finally see the entrance to Changu Narayan Temple.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle in Bhaktapur and start from Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Cycle east on the main road (Bhaktapur - Changunarayan Road). The ride is about 1.5 kilometers and will take you approximately 10-15 minutes. Make sure to follow the road signs for Changu Narayan and keep an eye out for other cyclists and pedestrians. The last part of the journey includes a slight uphill ride as you approach the temple.
Local Bus
From Bhaktapur Durbar Square, walk to the nearest local bus station, which is located near the square. Catch a local bus heading towards Changunarayan. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Inform the bus conductor that you are going to Changu Narayan Temple, and they will let you know when to get off. Once you disembark, follow the signs leading to the temple, which is a short walk uphill from the bus stop.
