Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Kathmandu and head southeast towards Godawari. Take the Ring Road and follow the signs for Godawari. The distance is approximately 15 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Godawari, look for the signs directing you to Phulchowki. Drive towards HCC2+PCJ, Godawari 45200. There is a parking area available near the trailhead to the cave.
Public Transportation
To reach Phulchowki Cave using public transportation, head to the Ratnapark Bus Station in Kathmandu. Take a local bus or microbus heading towards Godawari. The fare is typically around NPR 50-100. Inform the conductor that you wish to get off at Godawari. Once you arrive in Godawari, you may need to hire a taxi or a motorcycle to take you to the cave entrance, which is about 3 kilometers from the bus stop. Expect to pay around NPR 300-500 for the taxi ride.
Hiking
After reaching the parking area, you will need to hike approximately 1.5 kilometers uphill to reach the Phulchowki Cave. The trail is well-marked and takes about 30-40 minutes to walk, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry water for the journey.
