If you're traveling by car, you will first need to reach the town of Lukla, which is the starting point for the EBC trek. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes about 30-40 minutes, and you will need to book your flight in advance due to high demand. Expect to pay around $180-$250 for a one-way ticket. Once you arrive in Lukla, you will follow the EBC trek route, passing through several villages until you reach Dingboche.

Public Transportation
To reach the EBC trek route via public transportation, take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Jiri, which usually takes around 8-10 hours and costs approximately $10-$15. From Jiri, you will need to trek to Lukla, as this route is not accessible by car. This trek will take about 3-4 days. Once you reach Lukla, follow the well-marked trail towards Dingboche, which is part of the EBC trek route.

After reaching Dingboche, which is where the EBC trek route runs, you will continue your trek towards Everest Base Camp. Follow the signs and trails leading from Dingboche, passing through Pheriche and Lobuche on your way to Gorak Shep. From Gorak Shep, you can make a day trip to the base camp, which is approximately a 3-hour hike from Gorak Shep.
