From Kathmandu, you can take a bus to Jiri or Salleri. Buses leave regularly from the Kathmandu bus park, and the journey takes about 8-10 hours. Once you arrive in Jiri or Salleri, you will need to trek towards Everest Base Camp. This trek will take approximately 10-14 days depending on your pace and the trekking route you choose.

For a quicker option, you can take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight takes about 30-40 minutes. From Lukla, you will begin your trek to Everest Base Camp, which usually takes about 8-10 days. If you want to return quickly, you can also arrange for a helicopter from base camp back to Lukla or Kathmandu, but this can incur additional costs, typically ranging from $500-$1,000 depending on the service.
