Trekking
To reach Mera Peak from Everest Base Camp, begin your trek by following the trail leading south from Everest Base Camp towards Gorak Shep. The trek takes approximately 3-4 hours. Once at Gorak Shep, you will head towards the village of Lobuche. This segment takes about 2 hours. After reaching Lobuche, continue your trek towards Thukla, where you will find the memorials for climbers who have lost their lives in the region. This part of the trek generally takes about 1 hour. From Thukla, continue towards Dingboche, which is a major acclimatization stop, taking approximately 2 hours.
Trekking
Continue from Dingboche towards the village of Pheriche and then follow the trail that leads to the village of Khumjung. This trek will take around 4-5 hours. Once you reach Khumjung, you will find necessary accommodations and supplies. Make sure to rest and acclimatize before proceeding to Mera Peak. The trail from Khumjung will guide you to the base camp for Mera Peak, which is located near the Phorche Pangboche Trail. This final leg takes about 3-4 hours.
Accommodation
Throughout your journey, you will need to find lodging in places such as Gorak Shep, Lobuche, Dingboche, and Khumjung. Budget around $10-$20 per night for basic lodgings. It's advisable to book in advance during the peak trekking season.
Permits and Fees
Before starting your trek to Mera Peak, ensure you have acquired all necessary permits.
