Car
From Everest Base Camp, you will first need to return to the nearest road access point in Gorak Shep. From there, take a jeep or hire a private vehicle to drive to Pokhara. This journey will take approximately 10-12 hours, depending on road conditions. Be sure to arrange for a stopover if needed, as the journey can be long and tiring. Once in Pokhara, you can find various accommodations for an overnight stay.
Public Transportation
Travel by local bus from Gorak Shep to Jiri, which is a longer route but more cost-effective. From Jiri, take a bus to Kathmandu. This journey can take about 15-20 hours total. Once in Kathmandu, you can catch a domestic flight to Pokhara or take a tourist bus, which takes around 7-8 hours. In Pokhara, you can find transportation to the Annapurna Circuit starting point, usually at Besisahar.
Domestic Flight
From Kathmandu, consider taking a domestic flight to Pokhara, which is the quickest option. Flights take about 25-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you can arrange for a local jeep or bus to Besisahar, which is the starting point for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. This drive takes approximately 2-3 hours.
Local Bus
From Pokhara, take a local bus to Besisahar. Buses leave frequently throughout the day, and the trip usually takes about 4-5 hours. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance during peak trekking seasons to avoid any last-minute hassles.
Jeep Hire
For a more comfortable and quicker option, consider hiring a jeep from Pokhara to Besisahar. This service is available at various travel agencies and can be arranged for groups. The cost may vary, but it typically ranges from NPR 4,000 to NPR 6,000, depending on the number of passengers and the type of vehicle.
