Getting There

  • Car/Taxi

    From Everest Base Camp, you will first need to make your way back to Lukla. This involves trekking back along the route you came, which can take several days. Once you reach Lukla, you can hire a taxi or take a shared vehicle to reach Kathmandu. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and cost around NPR 500-1000. From Kathmandu, you can take a bus or private vehicle to Arughat, a town that serves as the gateway to the Manaslu region.

    From Kathmandu, take a bus to Arughat. Buses to Arughat leave from the Gongabu Bus Park and the journey takes approximately 8-10 hours, costing around NPR 600-1200 depending on the bus service. Ensure to start early in the morning to avoid night travel.

  • Trek

    Once you arrive in Arughat, you will need to trek to Samagaun, which is the base for climbing Manaslu. The trek from Arughat to Samagaun takes about 2-3 days, covering a distance of approximately 40 kilometers. The route is scenic but can be challenging. Make sure to hire a local guide and porter for assistance. Accommodation and food are available along the route.

  • Local Transportation

    In Arughat, you can hire a local jeep to take you to Soti Khola, which is the starting point of the trek to Samagaun. The jeep ride costs around NPR 1500-2000 per person and takes about 1-2 hours. From Soti Khola, the trek to Samagaun begins.

  • Final Trek
