Getting There
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kathmandu and head towards Dhunche. The journey takes about 7 to 8 hours. From Dhunche, take the road to Syabru Besi. Once in Syabru Besi, park your vehicle at a designated parking area, as cars cannot go further. The parking fee is around NPR 200-500 depending on the duration of your stay.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For public transportation, take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Dhunche. Buses leave in the morning from various bus stations like Ratna Park and can cost around NPR 800-1200. Upon arriving in Dhunche, take a local jeep or bus to Syabru Besi. This will cost you around NPR 200-300. Once in Syabru Besi, you will need to park your bus or catch a local taxi to the trekking starting point.
Trekking
From Syabru Besi, the trek to Gosainkunda begins. The trek is approximately 7-8 hours long and is moderately challenging. Follow the trail signs that lead to Gosainkunda. It's advisable to hire a local guide or join a trekking group if you are unfamiliar with the area. Ensure you have proper trekking gear and enough water and snacks for the journey.
Accommodation
Before setting off, make sure to book accommodations in Syabru Besi or arrange for a guide who can help you with lodging along the trekking route. Guesthouses and lodges offer basic facilities, and prices range from NPR 500 to 2000 per night depending on the amenities.
