Car
If you are traveling by car from Pokhara, take the Prithvi Highway (also known as the Pokhara-Kathmandu Highway). After about 30 km, take a right turn toward Baglung on the Baglung-Pokhara Road. Continue on this road for about 80 km until you reach Baglung. From Baglung, follow the road to the town of Burtibang, which is approximately 30 km further. After reaching Burtibang, look for signs indicating the route to Dhorpatan. The last stretch to Dhorpatan can be accessed via a rough road, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. The total journey will take about 5-6 hours depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Dhorpatan by public transportation, start from Pokhara and take a local bus to Baglung. Buses leave frequently and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Upon arrival in Baglung, you can take another local bus or jeep to Burtibang, which takes around 1 hour. From Burtibang, you will need to hire a local jeep or walk approximately 15 km to reach the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can be irregular, especially during off-peak seasons.
