Serenity in the Heights: The Peace Pagoda, Darjeeling

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, you can use a GPS navigation app to reach Peace Pagoda, Darjeeling. Head towards Darjeeling from the nearest major city, such as Siliguri. The most common route is via NH27. As you enter Darjeeling, follow the signs for Chowrasta and Mall Road. Continue towards West Point, where you will find Peace Pagoda located at 27H5+2HQ. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to walk a short distance to the pagoda.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  You can take a bus from Siliguri to Darjeeling. Buses frequently depart from the Siliguri bus terminal and take about 3-4 hours to reach Darjeeling. Once you arrive at the Darjeeling bus station, you can take a local taxi or a shared jeep to West Point. The taxi ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, and you should inform the driver to drop you off near the Peace Pagoda. The fare for the taxi should be around INR 150-200.

• Public Transportation (Shared Jeep)

  Alternatively, after your bus journey to Darjeeling, you can opt for a shared jeep to West Point. Shared jeeps are available from the Darjeeling bus station and can be a quicker way to reach your destination. The fare is typically around INR 50-70 per person, and the ride will take about 15 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to West Point.

• Walking

  Once you arrive at West Point, you may need to walk a short distance to Peace Pagoda. From your drop-off point, head towards the main road and follow the signs for the pagoda. The walk should take around 10-15 minutes. The path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
