Getting There

  • Trekking

    Start your journey from Lakeside, Pokhara. Head towards the main road, and find the signs pointing towards 'Nayapul' or 'Annapurna Base Camp'. Follow the road as it leads you to the Tourist Bus Park. From here, you have two options: either join a guided trek or take a local bus to Nayapul, which is about 42 km from Pokhara. If you opt for the bus, it takes approximately 1.5 hours. If you're trekking, follow the trail that begins at the bus park, which is well marked.

  • Trekking

    Once you reach Nayapul, you'll find that the trek starts in earnest. Follow the path leading to Tikhedhunga. This will take you through beautiful villages and terraced fields. Make sure to stop at Tikhedhunga for refreshments and rest. The trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

  • Trekking

    From Tikhedhunga, continue your trek towards Ghorepani. The path becomes steeper here, with stone steps leading you up. This section can take around 4 to 5 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna range.

    Upon reaching Ghorepani, you can rest and prepare for an early morning hike to Poon Hill. The viewpoint is just a short 30-minute hike from Ghorepani. Start early, around 4:30 AM, to catch the sunrise. Follow the well-marked trail to Poon Hill, where you will experience breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif.

  • Return Trekking

    After enjoying the sunrise at Poon Hill, return to Ghorepani for breakfast. From Ghorepani, you can either trek back to Nayapul, which will take around 6 to 7 hours, or you can opt to stay overnight and explore more of the area before heading back the next day.
