Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town in Rolwaling Valley, which is likely to be Dolakha. From Dolakha, take the road heading towards the Rolwaling Valley. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours. Follow the signs towards the village of Gongar. Once you reach Gongar, continue on the road until you reach the trailhead for Phurtyang. Park your vehicle at the designated area and begin your hike towards the Everest view point, which is around a 2-hour trek from the trailhead. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
Public Transportation
To reach Phurtyang via public transportation, take a local bus from Kathmandu to Dolakha. This bus journey takes around 6-8 hours depending on road conditions. On reaching Dolakha, you can hire a jeep or take a local bus towards Gongar. After reaching Gongar, you will need to hike to Phurtyang. The hike from Gongar to Phurtyang will take approximately 2 hours. Ensure you have adequate provisions for the hike, as there may not be shops available along the route.
Hiking
Once you have reached Gongar (either by car or public transportation), the hiking trail to Phurtyang begins from the village. Follow the well-marked path that leads you through lush forests and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is moderately steep, so take your time and enjoy the scenery. After about 2 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Phurtyang, the Everest view point, which offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.
